Hard to find 1st Generation German Made MK1 1978 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel. Complete car that needs both mechanical and body repairs. ~ Ziebart rustproofed, so much of the rust is surface, but there's more serious rust near the rockers and wheel wells. Strut towers are both solid; one has a few spots of surface rust, the other one looks mint. ~ 1.5 Liter Inline 4-Cylinder rated at 45/57 M.P.G. ~ 4-Speed Stick Shift. Clutch appears to be engaging well. ~ Interior overall is good. Passenger seat needs to be recovered or replaced. Headliner looks perfect, firmly attached and not sagging anywhere. Sun visors look perfect, no rips or tears. Door panels look MINT. Carpet needs cleaning or replacement. Dashboard has a few small cracks on top, but the front part of it looks MINT. ~ All windows are perfect. No cracks or chips. ~ All headlights, turn signal markers, brake and reverse lights are all excellent. None are cracked or broken. ~ Al l 4 "UFO" wheel covers are included as seen in pictures. ~ Tires have a lot of tread left on them ~ Engine compartment looks really clean. Doesn't appear to be any leaks. ~ Car is missing only the gas cap and radio antenna. ~ Comes with 2 keys (1 Original), Service Manual (Robert Bentley), Clean and Clear title in hand. ~ Can be viewed in person in Arlington Heights IL.
