For Sale: 1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 Series 220S Ponton 4-Door Sedan Wood Dash Restorable Condition: Restorable; this car has 97 to 99 percent of its original parts. it is a good specimen car to restore; fully restored, Off the frame was a dream; otherwise this car could be cleaned up and running fairly quickly; the car is mostly rust free; the tires are have less than 1,000 miles of wear; you will need to address; the exhaust; the brakes; the cylinder head; rebuild the carburetor; when the was running in 2008, it ran very well. The block has been welded, I moved from California to Washington 2008, in California, due to a leak in the radiator, I had been driving with only water, in the radiator, the winter of 2008, I failed to drain the block and radiator and the freeze popped a hole in the block, it was welded and is leak-free. *see photo #24-the last photo * Notes on parts: 1) the radiator has been boiled, sealed and painted 2) the cam has been machined, photo shows some surface rust, it need to be polished off 3) the replacement cylinder head needs to be machined 4) a new head gasket is included 5) *included are 2 brake drums and brakes shoes for 2 wheels; I am pretty sure the the drums on the car, can be turned and shoes on the car, can be resurfaced
