Number of 1961 Corvettes Built were 10,939. Our corvette was built on December 22, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the first year for the four taillights, now a corvette tradition, but a new look for the 1961. Compete frame off restoration in 2009 by Bob Green. Paint is a Tuxedo Black base coat clear coat. There were only 1,340 Tuxedo Black corvettes produced in 1961. The interior was restored back to stock condition by Al Koch. Has Vintage Air Conditioning with steel braided lines and was installed by Mark Pettersen at Pettersen Motor Sports in Chico, California. The engine originally was a 270 horse 283CI with two four barrel carburetors. Now has a ZZ350 Aluminum head crate motor with Edelbrock intake manifold and matching Edelbrock Dual 500 CFM Four Barrel Carburetors. The transmission is a 5-Speed Tremec. The Front Suspension is a Jim Meyer's unequal length tubular A-arm with QA1 coil over shocks, rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes with dual master cylinder. The rear suspension completely rebuilt stock 1961 with 3.08 posi-traction gears. The wheels are Boyd Coddington 18" x 8". The tires are 215/45ZR 18 Generals.
