I am re-listing my XKE due to a NON-Paying Buyer! After collecting most of the parts I would need to do a restoration of my XKE, I decided before beginning, to start it up and see what I was dealing with. As the car had been sitting for years I began by re-commissioning the motor. After Soaking the cylinders down and hand turning the motor, I went through the carburetors and ignition systems cleaning, adjusting and making it ready to start. To my delight it roared to life on the very first turn of the key! After a bit more adjustment it was starting easily and idling very well. In addition to running the motor pulls great oil pressure, and all gauges work.After bringing the motor back to life I decided to Re-commission the chassis and see how the car drives.To do this I went through the braking and clutch systems, making the brakes and clutch operational. The interior has received a very through cleaning and leather treatment, you can see by the photos that it is quite reusable. After completing all of the above work I realized, that the best thing to do was make it ready to drive so it can be used and enjoyed for the summer months. Than when the rains of winter close it, start the restoration! To this end I have patched the floors and toe boards with Fiberglass making them good for the up coming summer driving season. For the restoration the car will ultimately require, I have purchased and am including, a lengthy list of new and used parts. They run the gambit from Martin Robey Body repair panels, to Stainless steel exhaust system, new tires , and on and on! Please contact me for a detailed list of additional parts that are included. One very expensive and important part that must be mentioned is a complete new intake system!
