This perfectly restored 1979 MGB convertible roadster was completed in 2012. The restoration includes all mechanical systems and cosmetic. ENGINE: Rebuilt by Glenn's MG, St. Petersburg Florida. Bored out, new pistons, camshaft, valve train, new clutch. 32/36 Downdraft Weber 2 bbl carburetor with K&N intake, Mallory electronic distributor and coil, 100 amp alternator, new 14" electric cooling fan, oil cooler with stainless steel braided hoses, new radiator, water pump and hoses. Totally "detoxed" per John Twist, University Motors, Grand Rapids Michigan. Runs like new, 70 mph on the Interstate for hours to car shows in Florida and gets over 25 mpg. SUSPENSION: Monroe Sensatrac shocks, new springs (lowered 1/1/2 inches to pre-1975 ride height ) Urethane bushings,new tie rods, new Brembo rotors and calipers, stainless steel brake lines, new master cylinder and rear shoes. Ugly, heavy rubber bumpers replaced with beautiful new chrome bumpers and grille, save weight and improve handling. New Michelin Pilot sport A/S radial tires and Panasport alloy wheels. EXTERIOR: Stripped and sanded down to bare metal and all rust cut out and new steel welded in, including both rocker panels. No bondo. Skim coated, sanded, primed and painted with multiple coats of PPG British Racing Green paint and clear coat. Since completion the car has never been washed with soap and and water, only Meguiares Spray Cleaner/ Detailer and Carnauba wax. INTERIOR: Entire front cabin is insulated with DYNAMAP, new carpet with felt wool backing, new seat cushions and covers in heavy duty vinyl Autumn Leaf, new mats with MG logo. New console, door card panels, new retractable seat belts, new Tan Duralast vinyl top. Trunk (boot) carpet and spare tire package, original MG jack. Spare tire is a Michelin Pilot Sport, full size. All gauges and accessories are functional. Auxiliary voltmeter and retractable cup holder on passenger side. Audio system is a 200 watt, 2 6" door speakers and 2 8" rear speakers. EXHAUST: Cast iron low restriction header with stainless steel pipes, muffler, resonator and great sounding MONZA exhaust tip, which gives it the classic British sports car sound. This car is kept in an air-conditioned garage and never taken out when it was raining. Included with the MGB are service and parts manuals, owners glove compartment booklet and 3 Landau (convertible top) covers, and a battery tender/ connector for the OPTIMA sealed battery.
