1971 Volkswagen Bus Campmobile Best year for the bay window as it is the first year for front disc brakes and last year for stand up easier to work on engine. This is a nice original condition Campmobile in Chianti Red with Pastel White Roof, bumpers and wheels. It was refreshed about 13 years ago, by the previous owner when the engine and transmission were rebuilt and the suspension, brakes and mechanical were attended to as well. The bus has been driven about 2,000 miles since that time and the body had some scratches, dings and nicks that give in that lived-in look, not a trailer queen. Comes with a very rare children’s hammock and the interior is in nice condition. Engine, transmission, mechanicals and brakes were all just recently gone through by 35-year master Volkswagen mechanic. Tuned, adjusted, replaced and in very good working and running order. You can jump in this bus and take for a cross country drive without any concerns. Especially after I install brand new Hankook 195-75-14 whitewalls that are not yet shown in pictures (had to order). I purchased with the intention of taking on weekend vacations and reliving my youth; my wife wasn’t interested in doing the same..HA! Thus after spending some time with my mechanic to make sure it was all sorted out before I placed up for sale; this beautiful Campmobile is now available. The bus is from Colorado and will be sold with a clean Colorado Title. I have receipts dating back to 1984 that show that this bus has been well taken care of by it past 3 owners. Bus can be seen in San Diego CA by appointment and I will do my best to be available for it to be transported or will pick you up at the San Diego Airport.
