Price: US $8,000.00 SOLD OUT
Up for auction 1978 Custom Wagoneer. Rare 401 engine, and a mid year model. All time 4 Wheel drive I purchased this about 3 years ago from a mechanic in Alabama. I haven't done much to it throughout the years, but I've done a few things. Installed new fuel pump, fuel filters, new alternator, tune up, cleaned the carburetor, dropped the fuel tank to fix a leak, new drum brakes and rotors. Tires are what came on it when I purchased it and still have a lot of life to them. The headlights had a grounding issue that I fixed. I installed a brand new retro-sound Bluetooth radio, with a microphone. This is obviously a custom paint job, it was originally a cream color. There is some paint cracking and some chipping off. The interior is custom as well, again very obvious. The odometer is stuck on 85099 miles, it makes a click every 1/10th of a mile. The furthest I've driven this is about 5 hours, from Winston Salem NC, to Gatlinburg TN. Through lots of mountains and back winding roads and it performed great. I think the gas tank needs to be replaced with a new one that has slosh guards because when we would be going up hill when the tank was about half full it would sputter like it was losing gas. The back window rolls down and up sometimes, it depends on the day. I tried to fix it but it never consistently worked. Heat and Air Conditioning work. There is a squealing belt in the vent system. The windows leak, needs new seals and sweeps. There is a piece of trim missing for the windshield, the top chrome cap on the passenger side. The original owner put a ford style pick up windshield guard that I removed, they drilled holes in the metal itself and tried to seal it but the screws pulled right out. I covered it with duct tape for the time being so it wouldn't rust out any more than it did with the screws. The doors open and close great except the rear driver side door, that cant be opened from the inside, I still have the handle for it but the screw broke off in the hole while I was trying to fix it. Shouldn't be hard to remove and replace. There are a few spots on the body where there is rust, both sides at base of the rear panel at the wheel and exhaust. Some rust spots where the paint has been rubbed off the metal. One small ding the size of a pea on the driver side door, which cracked the paint near the trim. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. I also have more pictures available.
