Cougar for sale, we would like to keep it but too many other projects. Lots of new parts have been installed. Mechanically sound, needs body work. Title in hand, mileage is NOT actual and is unknown at this time. Mechanical: 302 Engine (crate engine installed by previous owner) with Weiland intake, has a new Edelbrock carburator and late model (86 Mustang) heads. The engine runs strong and the transmission has been upgraded with a new AOD transmission (I think the kit was from PATC). Dual flowmaster Delta 40 exhaust. Fuel tank has been replaced, and a new alternator. Needs a battery, it jump starts from cold and idles fine. Exterior: Paint is a tinted primer/sealer and the body needs work to be show quality (primarily the quarter panels). See some rust near rear side windows and under chrome on deck lid. Hood is in great shape and was replaced in the past from a hood found in storage. Rear tail lights have been upgraded to LED. Headlight vacuum canisters were in working order but moved a little slow. At one point I was troubleshooting a vacuum leak and I disconnected the system. The leak was due to a cap on an unused port being missing but I never reconnected the system because we planned on converting the open mechanisms to electric. If desired I can reconnect and test. Interior: Floorpans are new and carpet is new. Seats are out of a newer mustang, but we do have the originals (originals need work). Front seat belts upgraded from lap to shoulder style. Headliner has been removed, we have a new one in a box but would recommend fixing rust by rear side windows (pictured) before install. Dash board is in great shape, it is missing the trim piece that goes along the face area (long panel around switches and controls). We have a lot of spare parts that go with if bought at full asking price. Otherwise offers will be negotiable. Car is garaged in Easley SC contact me if you would like to come see it in person.
