Up for sale on the very first day of snow this fall is a 1974 TVR 2500M. This car from what I could find out spent most of its time in Florida since new until it was sold in 1979 showing 15,100 miles to its current owner from Steubenville Ohio who drove it from 1981 to 1988 when he passed away having only traveled 30,085 miles. The car has not been driven since 1988 and stored in a heated storage facility near his home. The frame has little to no rust whatsoever, the body appears to be all original with no signs of an accident. We drained the fuel tank, cleaned the fuel lines, minor rebuild on the carbs, put in new spark plugs, new battery, checked all fluids, couple shots of WD40 in the cylinders and it fired right up and runs perfectly. There are no knocking noises or blue smoke in the exhaust and 20 PSI oil pressure at idle and operating temperature. A compression test was taken showing 125 PSI and is consistent in all 6 cylinders. The engine and mechanicals appear to be all original with some of the coolant hoses still equipped with Chaney hose clamps. The brakes seem OK but would suggest rebuilding before taking out on the road. The clutch was inoperative so we installed a new master and slave cylinder and now is OK and we have driven the car on back roads. The Transmission shifts smoothly without any bearing noise or grinding sounds. The Tires have tread but are old and probably need replaced. Exhaust system is in good shape. The fit on the doors is great without any binding when opened/closed. This car has a clean, notarized Ohio title. We believe that the interior is original and also in very good shape but the carpet on the driver side would probably need replaced. This is an original unrestored, unmolested car that would make someone a very nice driver or make this rapidly appreciating car into a show car with very little effort.
