The Nash Metropolitan was introduced in 1955 and was ahead of its time in many ways. The idea of a small, economical car was not at the top of the popularity list in the 1950s, but this car comes at a size and with fuel economy that would fit todayâs market. This is the hardtop version, there was also a convertible. This 1956 features an engine that is slightly larger than the one first introduced. Metros are loved and collected today, and there are Metropolitan clubs and shows.1954 Metropolitan Nash with larger 1956 1500 CC engine. The engine was completely overhauled with new pistons, bearings and valves and has less than 3,000 miles on the overhaul. A new fuel tank installed. Differential ration has been upgraded to 3.73 ratio. The brakes have been upgraded to four wheel disc for better stopping and an oil cooler and filter have been added to increase longevity. This fun car has been my pet project for the last couple of years and is ready to drive home. All receipts are available. All original except for upgrades.
