One of approximately 3000 convertibles made, this survivor is a fun weekend driver or a basis for a restore. With 96k miles this car was one of two Lincolns purchased by the original owner. This one appearing to be a later production 64, somewhat rare, originally produced in black with a tuxedo 1965 interior. Personally I think a smoother look. Will need attention: Car has an ok condition paint job, the usual road chips but some body work has been done in the past to right front fender. There is a crack in the grill and eyebrow trim but replacements for both will come with the car. Convertible top frame has a couple of cracks welded and some tears, missing fabric on headliner. Rear taillights are cracked but a pair of oem originals come with the car. AC needs belt; don’t know condition of compressor. If more than a weekend driver car could use shocks/springs sometime. Radio and clock do not work but I have some extra parts.The good: Major 60’s Lincoln problems sorted out and upgraded. Ammeter, steering column and brakes. Backing plate on ammeter installed as well as in-line ammeter fuse located behind glove box. All installed so car will not burn to the ground due to shorting of the meter. Serious problem. Lower shift tube bushing replaced to prevent car slipping in to reverse. Steering box mounts replaced and new center link installed. New brake booster, double reservoir master cylinder, braided brake lines and the proper OEM 1965 front disc brakes, complete. Additionally: Rebuilt engine in the 90’s by previous owner. Upgraded Pertronix electronic ignition and coil. New battery, battery cables and starter. Rebuilt carb. New rear mufflers. New right exhaust manifold. New harmonic balancer. Rebuilt power steering pump. Power windows all work except front and rear passenger when used from driver’s buttons. (Worked in the past. Contacts need cleaning I believe.) Power top and trunk work and pump has new fluid. Smooth dash with no cracks. Lots of extra parts, lenses, original oem front seatbelts, eyebrow trim, badges, seat emblem, motor mounts, rear seatbelts and more.I purchased the car 4 years ago having found it being stored in a heated barn barley driven for 15 years. Since then, car has been covered and stored inside. I myself have only driven the car a handful of times in the last year. I only see slight rust, bottom of doors, some corners, some surface rust here and there, but don’t know if more. My intent was to restore the car having started with the above but a progressing disease prevents my continuing. Make offer. Motivated seller.
