This Mach 1 was purchased from the original owner in October, 2020. This 1970 Super Cobra Jet Mach 1 is a fine example of both period performance and preservation. It is a one-of-one as-equipped vehicle per the Elite Marti Report that was sold new at Worthington Motor Sales in Worthington, Ohio. This Mach 1 features the legendary R-code 428 Cobra Jet V-8 with Ram Air which is paired to the original close ratio 4-speed manual transmission. The original owner also opted to order the Drag Pack, an option that provided a 3.91-geared Traction-Lok differential. All of the pertinent Drag Pack equipment is original and intact! The Mach 1 was also factory-ordered with power steering and brakes and retains the original Mag-style hubcaps wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires. In addition, this Mach 1 features one of the rarest color options available for the 1970 Mach 1. Of the estimated 1,371 R-code/4-speed Mach 1s produced in 1970, it is one of only 13 produced in special-order Medium Green. Of those 13, it is the only one to be ordered with Medium Ivy Green clarion-knit vinyl bucket seat interior. The paint and interior are both original to the car, as are the factory sport slats and rear spoiler. The Hurst T-handle shifter and column-mounted Sun tachometer add a fantastic and subtle touch to the interior as well.The level of originality that this Mach 1 presents cannot be understated with the paint, interior, engine, Drag Pack equipment, carburetor, intake, transmission, bumpers, glass, smog equipment, jack and Polyglas spare tire all being factory-installed and/or applied. In addition to the aforementioned Elite Marti Report, it is offered with the original invoice and handwritten buyer’s order, gate release, Eminger Report, a copy of the original title, period Polaroid photos and letters from Ford Motor Company to the original owner.
