Back then, very few kids owned cars but if they did, it was usually a Ford or Chevy. I wanted to be different. Our neighbor had a cool ’41 Hudson for sale. I bought it for $75 and put a straight pipe on it making it the kids' neighborhood car of choice. With no back seat and making use of the trunk, the business coupe allowed as many as six people. We cruised Woodward Avenue and Ted’s Drive-in in Detroit. My Hudson was a real hit.FAST FORWARDRecently, I began a search for one that was original, no chop, no channel, no hot rod engine – just a 1941 Hudson Business Coupe. I gave up. Then I found the car listed here; a 1947 Hudson Super Six, all original, and I liked it. It did not need much, was in great shape, solid and original.The '47 Super Six was delivered. Here is what we found. It needed a water pump, battery, leaky gas tank repair, and shift cable. We installed a new battery and water pump. Then all work stopped because I got a phone call from Tennessee from a guy who had a 1941 Hudson Business Coupe. The fuel was drained and work was stopped on the car offered here which justifies this low price. For it to run the above repairs need to be completed. This Hudson is in amazing condition. All the body trim is intact and in good condition; nothing is missing. It is fully optioned with two-tone paint - Quaker gray upper and Jewel Blue lower. It has two sun visors, fender lamps, fog lamps, heater, seat covers, wheel trim rings, wide whitewalls, direction indicator, locking gas cap, rear-view mirror, and the original owner's manual. The photos will tell the rest of the story. The Second Generation Hudson was built for two years -1946 and1947. The Hudson revival has increased the value of these cars and willcontinue.
