Barn Find, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee's Studebaker Hawk! This car wasfound in Palm Springs California where it had resided for the past 60years, 25 plus years of that sitting in the pictured car port. The car is a v8,automatic, power steering, power brakes, with AC and seat belts. The car hadalways been in California, it's entire life and has ZERO rust. Thefloorboards and fenders are like new. It has 62,000 original miles and isin overall good condition. We spent $6500 getting it running, whichincluded complete brake job with new hydro booster, tune up, battery, waterpump, hoses, belts, radiator, door strikers, hood latch, ignition switch, cleanout the tank, new fuel system, rebuild carb...etc. Have receipts. The repairswere done in Long Beach, and I drove it home, about an hour drive. Here's the story behind the past ownership. We found the car under a carport in a Mid-Century modern Home that once belonged to Bobby Darrin. Theestate that we purchased the car from had lost all the paperwork on the car.They did show us the deed to the home showing the past owners name matching thestory. We had planned to drive to Sacramento and visit the DMV headquarterswhere you are able to look through the old microfiche to look up past historyof any California car. Unfortunately, during covid it was shut down. It wouldbe up to new owners to do the leg work on this and get more physicalproof. As for condition, the car was originally a dark blue and was painted with asingle stage baby blue probably 40 years ago, so it needs paint. The car doesrun but smokes a little, it needs to still be gone through, the shocks seemlike they are shot and there are no door rubbers. when you drive it, it rattlesa lot because of those issues. I also took pics of other issues like dents, some paint blisters, bent molding etc. I do not have time to finish this project, I think the car has a lot of potential hoping to sell it to someone that can finish the project.$1000 deposit upon winning bid. we can work out final payment on pick up.
