Ford Other. I've had this 1949 Thames 1/2-ton Panel Truck for about 9 years now. I just don't go to shows anymore so I'm going to let someone else enjoy it. It is all steel, not fiberglass, and the color is Purple. It has a Ford 302 from a late Model Mustang with a c4 Transmission and an 8" Ford rear end. Rear wheels are 15 x 15 Centerline convo pros with Mickey Thompson SR radials. The front wheels are Weld Racing 15 x 6 with 185R15 tires. 15-gallon fuel cell. It has power windows, a radio/CD player, Tachometer only, no speedometer. The brake is on the left foot. It is very much old school as you can see in the photos. The 302 is a Mexican Block with casting numbers 75ZY-AA The 302 Mexican Blocks have heavier main bearings and a thicker wall and deck. They are approx. 25% stronger than a 5.0 block. The Thames has an early Mustang front end with coil-spring, and rack and pinion steering and an 8" Ford rear end. It was set up for the strip with a 1-gallon spun aluminum tank on the front and is for decorative purposes only. But it looks cool. The engine sits back in the cab area as you can see. I have a clean Arizona title in my name. The Anglia Thames Panel is very rare with 6 registered in the US. This '49 Anglia Thames is in Farmington NM.
