Price: US $8,950.00 SOLD OUT
You are viewing a very nice Jeep CJ5. I bought the CJ several years ago from a less than scrupulous seller and have since put a lot of TLC, (also known as money) into itâs refurbishment. Please note that the mileage shown is not the actual mileage, (although the former seller claimed it as âoriginalâ). The Jeep has been kept in my hangar and I take it into town occasionally; it always gets compliments from passersby. Over the past two years I have replaced the following: BRAKES, (drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, stainless steel metal brake lines, compensating valve, rubber flex lines, and master cylinder). SUSPENSION, (leaf springs, U-bolts, tie plates, bushings, and shock absorbers), STEERING, (steering box, pitman arm, tie rod and ends, connecting rod, and knuckle arms), FUEL, (fuel tank, fuel tank sending unit, rollover/check valve, pump, filter, rebuilt carb, thermostatic choke, and EGR), EXHAUST, (muffler, tailpipe, and hangers), ELECTRICAL, (ignition switch, battery, alternator, regulator, starter, starter relay, coil, distributor cap, points, rotor, condenser, spark plugs, and wires), DRIVETRAIN, (clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and linkage). TIRES, (235/75R15 Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT, 500 miles since new). The CJâs tub and front fenders were removed in the early eighties and replaced with heavy fiberglass components by 4WD; the hood, grill, dash, and windshield frame are original. The top, doors, and curtains are in nice shape. The seats were also replaced ALL electrical systems work properly; horn, lights, turn signals, reverse lights, stop lights, wipers and washer, instrumentation, heater/defroster, and blower. The radio was an undermount unit that I removed. The engine is a straight six, 232 with a single barrel Carter YF carburetor. It starts easily, does not smoke or use oil. The former owner claims to have replaced crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings and rings, but offered no proof or receipts. The 3-speed transmission is connected to a Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear axle. A Dana 20 transfer case provides 4WD in high/low/neutral. An original dealer installed 8,000 Lb. PTO Ramsey winch works, but could use a new cable and a thorough going-over. The front extended bumper and forward turn signals are original to the jeep. The frame is solid, but it has areas of very light surface rust and dirt that are easily removed with a wire brush. There is one area toward the rear on the driverâs side at a cross member that needs to be repaired properly with new metal. Any competent welder with access to a lift could make the necessary repair. The emergency brake cables bracket also attaches to this cross member and should be replaced at the time of repair. Please ask questions and I will do my very best to answer quickly and to the best of my ability. I have bought and sold on E-Bay since 1999. Like most of you, Iâm a âcar nutâ and love the fun in driving and working on these old cars. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. I require a $500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close via PayPal. Final payment is due within seven days of auction close via bank wire or cashierâs check.
