Mystery Packard sitting since 1960 now up and running, 282 straight 8 engine recent valve job,new head gasket,new brakes including brake shoes,complete new exhaust system,rear pinion seal,new rear axle bearings,rebuilt carb fuel pump,has overdrive although have not dived into that yet sure a simple repair,all gauges work,no leaks,horn works,radio even worked when purchased I heard music,although cannot where I live receive a station? All glass good,dash plastic very nice,very straight,has very old black lacquer paint that buffed out to show some color albeit very old,new as original headliner and windlace so a start to interior restoration. Now the mystery begins,purchased as is sitting since 1960 I'd plate in photo shows model number 1475-2001 Bowyer MotorsOct 1940Tuscon Arizona Translation first 160 producedAlthough drivetrain and interior are 120Trunk lettering 160,hubcaps 160,Deluxe front grille bar 160 imprintedTrunk would have to have been changed as cannot just change script so was like this in 1960 when found ,I was told sold new in 1940 to a funeral home along with a 180 limousine Both of which were found in 1960 by family this was recently purchased from,The Box I was told was ordered by funeral home in place of sidemount spare,use unknown so the mystery will remainIt is titled as a 160 to match Vin plate,whatever it is it has been like this since 1960,a very nice survivor at any rate runs good,only rust some in trunk floor under each tailight,little on floor in front of latch area,98 percent solid rust free car, call for more details even found a 1941 newspaper in bottom of Box which is 26 inches deep,505-453-8982 New Mexico , I do have a sidemount cover for drivers side front fender needs still an actual sidemount fender for that side if you want to replace The Box which I grew to love as was a great attraction at Texas Packard meet I recently attended.$500 non refundable deposit via PayPal required,I reserve right to end auction early as advertised elsewhere.
