1970 Mercedes Unimog 404Make: Mercedes BenzModel: Unimog 404Year: 1970VIN: 404.114-058240Production Number: 058240Additional Number: 2320-12-140-9523Title: Not available (Imported vehicle, sold with bill of sale only)This Unimog was imported from Germany. I do not have any import papers just the bill of sale. The research I have done looks like it was a military transport truck used in Germany. The tires are dated from 1984, which I would assume was close to when it was last used overseas. I purchased it in the past year from North Carolina where it was running. It has a new muffler put onto it and it requires 2 batteries because it has a 24V system. I have recently purchased a new battery box, two new doors, new hood, new fuel tanks, and windshield for it. All parts are original Mercedes Benz parts and are all new old stock with the stickers still on them. This is definitely a restoration project. The body does have quite a bit of rust on it and is probably the worst part of the vehicle. The frame looks solid and no issues. The previous owner had a roll cage for trail driving purposes made to mount onto body. I removed it because the mounting points were not secure but the frame will come with truck. The axles and suspension seems to be all there and working. The bed has new wood boards in it. I have also found a used canvas top frame. I am uncertain about the brake system since I have not driven it. Motor does run. Engine is a Mercedes Benz inline 6 cylinder gasoline.Let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures.
