Vehicle Details The Volkswagen Type 181 was a German manufactured military vehicle that was developed out of the Kübelwagen which was the primary light duty vehicle used by the German army during WWII. In stock condition the Volkswagen Type 181 is a 2WD, four door convertible with utilitarian features designed for off-road use. This 1973 Thing is Green with a Light Brown Top and Tan seats. Overall good condition with a few small rust spots on the body as seen in pics. She runs like a top and starts always on the first try. Clutch is solid and shifts good. Could stand to have some brake work done on the car it and included are a couple of the rear master cylinders as well as some small parts. Newer tires with really cool aftermarket Empi wheels. Except for the turn signals all lights work on the car inclusive of driving and brake lights. Although unhooked, it comes with the rare OEM heater (see under hood front pics). No low ballers.
