I purchase this beautiful CJ5 for $16,500 just 5 months ago to tow behind my Motorhome, but once I started it!! I decided it was way too much for this old man. So I left it with my Brother, and took off in my Motorhome towing a Honda CRV My loss, your gain; I never towed the Jeep. I have driven it twice to the gas station about 50 miles . It is a beast!!! Looks Stock, but once you start it everyone comes over to look. The engine was professional built by Walters Precision Engines in Texas. The Engine that runs just awesome, is a 1968 Big Block 396. The Engine was bored 30 over with a mild cam. Cam thumper, with stainless steel valves, matching valve springs to match cam roller tip rocker arms. The engine was also Balanced. It has New top, tires/rims/ new carpet, new dash and console. Starts easy, No Rust, Sounds Unbelievable. Running gear was all rebuilt when engine was built. 3 speed manual T-15 Transmission, with 4 Wheel Drive Transmission. I do not know about the gearing in rear end, but it was rebuilt too. The front end is new and goes good down the road. To me this is not a freeway type vehicle. The Jeep is in excellent condition.
