This car was purchased new at Folk Chevrolet in Akron, Ohio on July 27, 1966 by the original owner. The car remained in his possession until his death in 2012 at which time it passed to his son. I purchased the car in September of 2013 and am the second owner outside the family. After purchasing the car I had the body taken off the frame, all numbers checked and were correct, and a complete restoration done on the undercarriage and engine bay. The engine was pulled and rebuilt as close to original specifications as possible. The compression was kept at 11:1 as it came from the factory. The engine was bored out at 15 over using all original parts except new pistons. Dyno test show 507 HP at 6800 RPM. At this time we checked the transmission and rear end and installed all new bearings, although not needed. The clutch checked out fine and original clutch and flywheel is still in the car. The car was repainted in 1985 in the original ralley red paint. Paint has some spider webbing in a few areas but only visible at close range. Extensive file has been maintained of all documents pertaining to the cars restoration. 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 427/425 with white soft top and original factory hard top - All numbers matching - 38800 actual miles - White soft top - Original factory hard top included with car - Two owner car. All paperwork, pictures and documentation available. - Engine was rebuilt as close to original specs as possible by Stinger Racing Engines of Kernersville, NC. Compression kept at factory specs of 11:1. - Transmission and rear end checked out and replaced with all new bearings although not needed. - Car was repainted in 1985 and has some spider web but only seen at close range. - Car shows no sign of any damage. - Original Protect-o-Plate - Car has less than 300 miles on rebuilt engine.
