Up for sale is a... 1977 Pontiac Firebird Formula Pontiac 400 4-Barrel Engine #500557 (WA) Block with 6X Cylinder Heads Muncie M20 4 Speed Transmission with Hurst Shifter Limited Slip (Posi) Rear axle with 3.23 Gear Ratio So...here is what I know about the car... The car will run and move on its own power. Engine - I was told the engine was rebuilt in the late 80's early 90's - however I have no paper work on it and this can not be confirmed. Mileage on motor is unknown. Car has been parked since early to mid 90's I hooked up a set of mechanical gauges (which do not come with the car). Engine has 60lbs of oil pressure cold and 45 to 50lbs with engine warmed up. I have moved the car around the yard and went through the gears while the car was up in the air and it seems to shift fine. Rear Axle - I have not removed the rear axle cover. I determined the axle ratio by counting the revolutions on the drive shaft by a full rotation of the tire. My best educated guess, is that the car has a 3.23 gear ratio. Glass is ok on the car. Frame - Rear section of the frame is extremely bad on the car. The car has little to no brakes and a leaky gas line. Tires all leak air but will hold enough pressure to get loaded on a trailer. Steering column is in bad condition. Car has no exhaust, just manifolds. There isn't much left of the interior in the car. Things like trunk lid, rear spoiler and hood appear useable yet. Battery not included. Car will need a battery to get started and moved. There are no front seats. In other words... this vehicle is being sold for parts only!
