1967 Firebird with 326 and 4 speed muncie ,motor has 10000 miles in the rebuild then was parked in a storage since 1998, bought it from the family of the owner last year and repainted Her. Has dual exhaust that ended with a cut out just before the axle. She runs, was registered and insured and I was trying to finish until My neighbor called the city complaining that I am running a illegal business in My garage. California law ,according to the city of Salinas,says that if You have an old car, even one turn of a screw is considered a MAJOR REPAIR so I was told not to work on My car in My garage anymore unless I am willing to pay a hefty fine,I was also told that i am allowed a screw driver and a wrench in My garage , long story short, I stopped and moved all My cars and tools to a storage and time stood still, car is 99% finished, all that needs to be done is ,front and rear window trims (which is included in the auction). Needs mirrors,door panels which I lost during the transfer. Car has a 4 month old paint job that is original color per the fender tag, new upholstery,new headliner, new carpet,new trunk liner, door panels are painted inside and outside, trunk interior is painted with truck bed liner and has new rubbers all around. Sits on a weld prostar with new tires that are staggered, brakes are good,gas tank was flushed and cleaned, carb was rebuilt. Has original console and gauges that are working, I put a new battery pan due to the old one had battery fluid spills . New distributor and plugsThe engine needs to be repainted and the engine bay needs cleaned ( mostly from the wax during the buffing stage ) and repainted which I am not able to do anymore and I basically lost interest from being investigated for illegal activity ,city never found anything but the social stigma stays. I guess My neighbor is allowed to park His big RV in His yard and flush out His toilet but I cant work on My car ( He was the complainant). Time to move on and sell.
