1957 Plymouth Custom Suburban - Correct original example. Beautiful solid condition. Always garaged and cared for. The factory matching-numbers Fury V-8 Motor is powerful and runs very strong. The engine compartment still has its original decals and washer bag. This car features Chrysler's Push-Button Automatic PowerFlite Transmission, Torsion-Bar Suspension, and Power Steering. Gorgeous original factory colors: Two-tone Sky Blue and White. The Front Grille is striking, with stylish hooded eye-browed Headlights, thin horizontal bars, and a massive front bumper, all in very good original condition. The smooth sculpted side panels rise into two giant tail fins, accentuating the dramatic "Flite Sweep" styling that Chrysler is famous for. The attractive three-toned Interior - in Dark Blue, Light Blue & Tan - is original and untouched, including the Dashboard, Door Panels, Headliner, Seats, etc. The Dashboard and gauges in particular are in excellent original condition. All the vinyl panels on the seats are completely intact and are in great original condition, although the cloth on the front seat has split at the seams. All the Glass is intact too, including the beautiful wrap-around Windshield and the curved rear windows. The Tailgate Window opens and closes properly. The entire Tailgate itself is solid and opens and closes correctly. The spare tire well is completely solid, as can be seen in the pictures - very rare on these models. The Undercarriage is amazingly solid too, including the rocker panels and quarters. The whitewall tires are all in very good condition. Original 1957 Plymouth literature is in the glove compartment. Chrysler Corporation's designs took a quantum leap forward in '57, when they introduced Virgil Exner's futuristic Flite-Sweep styling, one of his best designs ever. A ds described Plymouth's new look as "Suddenly - It's 1960! Now Plymouth is three full years ahead." These newly-redesigned Mopars were lower and wider, and were hailed as "The Forward Look of Motion" - this redesign sent shock waves through both GM and Ford, whose styling departments scrambled to catch up. 1957 was also the first year of Chrysler's famed "Torsion-Aire Ride", a sporty torsion-bar suspension system that provides superb handling and a smooth ride. Plymouth was named the best handling car in the country by Motor Trend magazine in 1957. This is your opportunity to own a seldom-seen and very rare original 1957 Plymouth Suburban wagon in a beautiful eye-catching color scheme. Please bid with confidence. Thank you.
