My father did the restoration. He was skilled in automotive work. I don't know the details of what restoration work was done. As I recall, the car was in good condition when he bought it. I know he took the car apart and worked on the pieces. A few years later he restored a Model A the same way. The number on the engine is 603802. My father drove the car occasionally--mostly in local parades. I drove it a few times. Once I got used to the pedals and levers it was fun to drive. It has been in a garage for a long time. My father made sure to turn the engine over frequently to keep the parts free. I have continued to crank the engine once a month. I doubt that it would take much to get it started. The top is apparently very rare. The side windows are glass and "spring loaded" to lift and fold into the ceiling. My father went to the Ford Museum in Michigan but they did not have any informtion on the top. I did some research and finally found a little informtion. Mr. Edward Lover of Buffalo, New York applied for a patent on the design in 1919. The patent contains a detailed description and drawings of the top. Please ask as many question as you want. I will try to give you all the information I know. The car has been a treasured "family member" for over 50 years. I would like to see it go to a good home.
