True barn find!! 77 Champagne Edition triple white VW Beetle! VERY VERY RARE CAR!! 18811 original miles! Last licensed in 1998 but last drived in 1996. Stored for almost 20 years under a tarp in a back yard. Car is very straight except for a few patches of paint where the tarp touched the body. Top and interior excellent! Vehicle is exactly how I found it, other than air up the tires I havent even so much as washed it. Mekum and Russo & Steele Auctions have both told me the car should bring 10-12K minimum. I dont have a place to properly store it till the next auction in this area so I am putting it up for sale.....my loss, your gain! A few months ago one of these cars auctioned for $30k and one with 100,000 miles sold for 10K on Ebay. In 1977 and 1978, VW issued one Champagne Edition convertible to each US dealership, also known as a Special US Sales Campaign model S723. This was essentially a Triple White convertible and had a set of four gold stripes running along the bottom of the doors and rear quarter panels. The 1977 model had faux burled elm dash inserts and the 1978 had faux rosewood dash inserts. Both had Opal colored vinyl seat (ribbon weave) and door panel coverings. Approximately 1000 total triple white S723 convertibles were sold in the US. May do some trading for something I like but the value will have to be more than what I am asking cash for mine...NO JUNK!!
