Price: US $8,300.00 SOLD OUT
Up for auction is a 1972 Corvette- The bad that I know about- the frame in the right rear, in front of the tire has some rot that looks to have a plate welded to reinforce it. (whats under the plate ? ) The birdcage around the windshield has various rust spots that look to have been covered up by polyurethane.(how is the rest of the birdcage ?-who knows) Doors have bad rust but work and shut correctly.Could use drivers door panel. Paint is horrible-(lifting in spots, cracked etc-looks good at 20ft-In the pictures it looks great do not be mislead) (car looks to have been blue at one time) Looks to have been hit in right rear-can see body work-I do not believ e it was a hard hit just fiberglass. Seat belt covers behind seats broke-also seat belts are showing signs of wear. Reverse light do not work. Could use a better radio. Wipers do not work (motor) Probably other little things that are coming to mind The good-new Hooker ceramic headers-new 2 1/4 exhaust and mufflers, new HEI distributor, wires, plugs,(still have original distributor) new Mcleod clutch, pressure plate,flywheel,t/o bearing new Hurst competition plus shifter and rods, (this car was originally an automatic car but converted over-nice job not all hacked up) Looks to have new fuel tank.Trans shifts great-quiet-(I believe it to be a Muncy 20 #3925661-large fine spline with 2 grooves on input shaft ,rear-posi-I believe 3.08 ratio, quiet. new rear leaf, headlites- work (up and down) Tons more but I will be here all day. Smoked 1 piece see thru Astro top (have original t-tops-need refinishing) The questionable- the engine runs great- but I have no clue if it is number matching (the block was decked) I pulled a valve cover and could see Manley head bolts and roller tip rockers- super clean-car has 60 psi oil pressure cold and 45psi hot both at idle-(of course when rpms go up psi goes up) when hot I can hear tapping- not like a bad lifter noise but like a solid cam (I have had the car on a couple of two hour trips and it does not miss a beat) Corvette heads-3973487X ,large balancer on engine, block # 3970010, aluminum intake, carb looks to be new (ran the #s -650 Holley-vacuum secondary) new fuel pump, I believe engine was redone at some point-I have no proof -purchased car like this and previous owner did not know. Closing-I presently drive car on weekends (weather permitting)so mileage may increase. I have disclosed everything I can think of- I HIGHLY encourage anyone SERIOUSLY interested in car to call me with any questions or concerns before bidding. With that being said Iam selling car in "AS IS" condition-no WARRANTY- GUARANTEE etc.I ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY DUE TO CAR SELLING ELSEWHERE.
