It is an industry phenomenon, and the fascination with this evergreen sports car is still capturing new fans today as much as it did after its launch in 1963. Delivered new to Jerry Cunningham of Hyattsville, Maryland; the original Kardex provided by Jurgen Barth and Porsche's Certificate of Authenticity confirm the vehicle was optioned with tinted glass and painted Polo Red over Black leatherette upholstery, completed in late 1966 with engine number 909490. This honest early 911 comes from long-term storage/ownership out of Massachusetts and was last registered for the road in 1984; it is believed to have been garaged shortly after. It remains very original overall with nicely preserved upholstery, older paintwork, original trim, glass and correct date stamped wheels. Front and rear compartments appear essentially untouched as does the main floor pan. The SWB's original 2-Liter engine starts, but a complete mechanical servicing will be needed before any road use. Great as an honest and complete base for a light cosmetic restoration, this early 911 Coupe offers the ideal entry into early 911 ownership.
