Price: US $9,500.00 SOLD OUT
Up for auction is this 1968 Firebird Race Car. I am selling it for a friend that is finishing a new car for the 2015 season. I have watched this car run consistently (low 9's) and reliably at Midwest tracks over the last 10 years. In particular, this car has competed each year at the Pontiac Tri-Power Nationals held at Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk). It is set up to run a Pontiac motor and a Turbo 400 trans. Aluminum PST driveshaft is included. Trans and engine are not. Front fenders, hood, doors, and rear deck lid are fiberglass. Windows are Lexan. Other features include: rack and pinion steering, tubular front a-arms with coil-over shocks, fabricated 9 inch rear with 4.30 gears, spool, and 35 spline Moser axles, Wilwood disc brakes front and rear, ladder bar rear suspension with Afco coil-over shocks, 8 gallon fuel cell. See the pictures of the rolling chassis for the other items included. This car has been certified by NHRA (sportsman ser# c007636 to 8.50) and IHRA (ser# 036859 7.50 +1/4 4.50 +1/8). It will need to be re-certified for 2015. This car has a clear Ohio title (vin: 223378U167508), but as you can see from the pix is not currently street legal! Needless to say, no valid odometer reading, hence the 9999. Any questions contact me, if I can't answer I'll check with the owner and respond asap. On Feb-08-15 at 19:37:13 PST, seller added the following information: The car as shown weighs 1772 lbs. This race car is for sale locally, we reserve the right to end auction early if sold.
