1971 Chevrolet Corvette Hardtop/Convertible 1971 Corvette Stingray Two-Top 4-Speed 350 Small Block V-8 Condition: Excellent. âAttention to detail was top priorityâ Year: 1971 Make: Chevrolet Model: Corvette Exterior color: Audi 2007 Silver (original factory color silver/gray) Warranty: No vehicle warranty This 1971 Corvette Stingray, is nicknamed âGretaâ, for its smooth driving temperament on a Sunday afternoon and its enhanced quickness off the line, for a 0-60mph thrill. I purchased this vehicle in July, 2002 and verified all numbers matched as original equipment. The history report for the last 12 years, as follows: Interior: - original dashboard (without cracks or tears) - original instruments, all working condition - original seat belts - recovered vinyl seats - replaced center console (original parts in storage) - replaced carpet - replaced door panels - added custom felt-covered surround for rear speakers - added 10-disc CD changer and after market Autosound Model USA-6 Radio. Original radio is in storage and included in the sale of this car. Engine: - original block (numbers matching) was pulled in 2007 because of a broken casting at the starter mounting bracket. The block was replaced with another that had the same manufacturing time frame as the original (May 1971). A well-known corvette mechanics expert in my area, started with boring the cylinders .040 larger, then created a high-performance masterpiece. The original block and all engine components are being stored and are included in the sale of this car. Body: - the motor modification increased the overall height necessary for the engine compartment, so the original hood was replaced with an LT-1 configuration. - the remaining fiberglass around the car was molded around the edges, so there was an even 1/8âcontinuous gap at all body seams (hood, doors, back latch and headlight covers), in preparation for paint. - vehicle was primed/painted in Nov/2008, using an Audi 2007 silver, under the clear coats. - bumpers are original but re-chromed. - door locks, handles, grill components have been replaced as needed. Any original parts removed are in storage and are included in the sale of this car. Tires: - Replaced tires with Goodyear, RSAs and replaced rims with triple-coated chrome slotted wheels. The original rims and rim covers are in storage and are included in the sale of this car.
