Price: US $9,000.00 SOLD OUT
One of the nicest examples of the first year Falcon still in existence. Sold in 1960 in Burlington, New Jersey to a Pennsylvania farmer the car was purchased from the original owner in 1994 with 38,113 miles. It now shows only 48,867 miles. Steering wheel restored by Gary's Steering Wheel Restoration, Carlisle, PA. Interior (seats and headliner) restored by Lee Chetty of Chetty Auto Tops and Upholstery, Chester Springs, Pa. Interior door panels are original. Everything works, including the original AM radio which was restored by Rene van Gaalen, South Texas Antique Electronics. Refer to photos for a better idea of condition. It was treated to a $3500.00 paint job in 1997 in the original Ford Corinthian White color. This car is not perfect, but even today it is very close to as it came off the assembly line in 1960. If you are looking to add to your collection of first class vintage autos or if you would just like to drive once again the car you drove when you were young, this may be just the vehicle for you. Driven regularly the car starts, idles, drives, steers and stops as it should. It has the 90 Horsepower Ford 144 CI inline six cylinder engine which was rated for up to 30 mpg in 1960. It has it's original Fordomatic transmission, a simplified 2 speed version of the famous Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission introduced in 1951. A partial list of items replaced or serviced includes: NOS bumpers (rechromed) NOS upholstery windlace and headliner NOS Chrome Trim "Falcon" on front quarter panels ( see photo) NOS Trunk Bezel trim over key (see photo) NOS Taillight lenses and chrome trim NOS horn ring NOS carburetor New wheel cylinders New steering idler arm Engine valves ground and lapped in New rear (air) shocks New rubber seals on all four doors, front windshield and rear window. New exhaust system from engine manifold back. NOS front grill NOS chrome headlight trim rings NOS hub caps NOS oil filter and air filter NOS windshield wipers and blades Steering wheel (restoration) Original vacuum tube AM Radio (restoration) This car is fun to drive and turns heads every where it goes. Everyone remembers when it first came out in 1960 as Ford's entry into the Compact class but NO ONE remembers seeing one in the last 20 years or so. These types of cars are becoming more rare each day. Local pickup only. I can help you load onto your trailer. Car comes with many many spare parts too numerous to mention here but feel free to ask for a detailed list if you are a serious bidder. I have a clear Texas Title. Bid with confidence on this super nice classic Ford. Car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early in the event it sells.
