Price: US $2,000.00 SOLD OUT
The car has four brand new Hankook Optimo whitewall tires and all four original chrome American Motors hubcaps. The car has current Georgia tags (exp. March 2016) and it is currently insured. When I purchased the car last summer it was running, and I was able to drive it from Forsyth, GA to Marietta, GA (80 miles) without it overheating or shutting down. Since then it has developed a leak in the fuel line, which had earlier been repaired with a length of rubber tubing about three inches long. I've tightened the clamps on this rubber tubing so it probably won't leak now, but the battery is now completely dead and I cannot start the car. This car drove beautifully last summer and the power steering works great. All of the windows and doors work properly. The car needs some pretty significant electrical repairs. Here are the issues that I know about: - The fuel line should probably be replaced - The automatic transmission works well, but in "2" only (starting in 2nd gear), when driven in "1" it takes too long to shift into 2nd gear - It occasionally slips out of PARK (so it probably needs some transmission work done) - The parking brake does not work - The speedometer does not work (the cable is disconnected) - The interior and dashboard lights do not work - The hydraulic windshield wipers do not work - The air conditioning does not work (the working condition of the heater is unknown) - The original radio was replaced and the current radio does not work - The glove box latch does not work (see photos), but the parts are included - The padding on the dashboard is cracked and needs to be replaced - The door and trunk seals need to be replaced. I have been storing the car underneath a car cover. - The trunk lock is missing (but the trunk can still be opened) - The rear interior panels on either side of the rear window are missing (they are included, but they have water damage)I was planning to get everything on the list above fixed so I could show the car in un-restored condition, but since I have no experience working on cars it has become too overwhelming for me to continue. This would be an easy project for someone who knows what they are doing. I hope a Rambler/AMC enthusiast will give it a good home!
