Price: US $9,000.00 SOLD OUT
1968 Cadillac Calais post-less sedan for sale.My only option with ebay's listing is to call this a Deville. It is not. It is a Calais, that option is apparently not available, as there were not many of them made. It is supposed to be the "stripped down" version on the sedan, however, this particular Calais has everything on it. Seek and scan radio, AC, PS, PB, Climate control, Tilt telescoping wheel, 6 way power seat, Powered windows and locks, etc, etc. Every option available on the Deville. I guess the dealer was out of Devilles? Not sure why someone would order the Calais loaded, but that is apparently what happened.Original survivor car. Complete, numbers matching (not that it matters).New valve guides and work for unleaded gas, AC refit for R134.Air does not work, as vacc harness has been eaten by critters.Has been parked for a decade.New wheel cylinders and flex hoses (brakes were locked up).Fired right up and drives after a decade of neglect. Yea Cadillac, Boo Me.Steering/Suspension/Drive train are solid. Will need points, or Electronic conversion (comes with it) installed.I am a mechanic, and this car, literally, has less wrong with it that the late model Explorers and Chevy junk I work on.Video of walk around, and car firing up and driving at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MYh48rUero&feature=youtu.bePaint looks good, but rust is blistering the paint in places. Needs minor body work and paint to be show car.Front seat has rip in it. Found the fabric, its expensive. Aftermarket covers are fairly priced however.Trunk and floor pans / frames are perfect. Zero rust through underneath. No fluid leaks. Oil, Trans, Diff, Cooling system, Brakes, Power Steering, etc... Amazing.Front fender drains are clogged, and rust is breaking out at bottoms (like all old GM cars. Patch panels are available if you can not live with bondo.)Will need weatherstripping kit. Seals around doors and trunk are giving it up after 50 years.Car starts, runs, and drives. You CAN NOT however, buy it and drive it away to California. The tires are dry rotted, the fluids should be changed, the wiper blades are shot, etc... etc.. It is a 50 year old car. It has been parked for over a decade.NO, you can not drive around care free like a modern minivan.I know I sound like a jerk, but the idiot questions I get about this stuff is amazing. Its an antique folks. Its for Sunday drives, or for pretending to be super gangster when you go to the club. Is very good for pretending to be super gangster. Probably can not mention that enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MYh48rUero&feature=youtu.be
