1979 VW Bus. Just built the 2.0L motor, w/ under 1,000 mi. 42x37 heads, web performance cam, web hydraulic lifters, German molley pistons, all German motor parts, except the single Weber carb (which is new). Motor was built by a high performance VW mechanic in Reno, who has been in business 30 yrs. Receipts for motor build: $9,800. Runs awesome! AT tranny shifts flawlessly (former owner had it serviced and shop reported that, 'it looks like new inside'). Tires 90%+, new shocks, new wipers. Exterior paint is good, but not mint, there are several small touch-up areas, and a small bondo patch above tailpipe, behind bumper- see photo. The engine hatch door paint is a shade off, and could use a professional match/spray. Body is excellent. This bus body has been well preserved, from living in the desert. Underbody is painted. Headlights work, front running lights, tail lights, break lights work. Signals, reverse lights, and rear side marker lights do not. Top pops like it should, w/ newer canvas. Doors open and close well, but door locks have no key. No cracks in windows. Interior is good, not mint. Newer seats, back bench folds down (not flush), middle bench is removable, passenger captain chair works. New CD player, new front speakers. Odometer reads 5,000 mi, (original miles unknown: however the bus has very low miles. No records or proof of mileage, odometer reads 5,000). Original front floor carpet has no wear, as well as the driver armrest. Odometer works. Gas gauge works, but full tank reads 3/4. Both interior lights work. Horn does not. Replaced heater boxes, but heat system still incomplete and not functional. Folding side windows work great, and have new screens. Padding for pop top bed is original, one cushion has been flipped over. Title is clear: NV. Vin #'s match. There are no issues w/ the title, and I checked both NV dmv, and CA state patrol. I am the legal owner of the vehicle, I am not a registered owner. Vehicle has no current registration or plates. The title has been signed off by the previous title owner, the 3rd owner of the bus. The new owner section of the title, is blank. I've owned the vehicle since March. Excellent running and looking bus, drives 65-70 on hwy with ease. This is a rare '79, new motor, AT, and it's an amazing bus. I am willing to deliver the bus for a fee per mile ($0.50/mile), however not to the east coast. East coast buyer would need to pick up the vehicle, have it shipped (a buyer cost), or meet me 1/2 way. Thanks for looking.
