Ultra-Ultra Rare, Barn Find 1951 Kaiser Deluxe Traveler 2 Door Utility Sedan Americas 1st Production Hatchback This car was only offered in a 2-door model for one year & is #196 of only 367 produced. Additionally this car is #3 of only 13 listed on the National Kaiser Frazer Registry, & The only one that has this color combination, Paint code #195 (Caribbean Coral) Interior color of (Cardinal Red) The Serial number is: K512-058274 The Body number is: 5120-1104 Engine: 226 Cu. In. Flathead straight 6 cyl. Made by Continental Implement Co. This is the type of car that when it is taken to a car show, it is the only one there & it attracts a lot of attention in any condition, as even the most hardcore of collectors & Kaiser fans have never been lucky enough to see one in person. I have campaigned this car for some years now in "Barn Found" condition & it was fun to drive. Yes it is a Rat & would never win a trophy due to its outward appearance. But the joy that it brings to others is worth showing it no matter how rough it is. I can not count how many old timers that I have heard utter the words "Where did you ever find this car, I have been a fan of Kaiser's for 50 plus years & have never even seen one of these" Yes, this car is Kaiser's White Whale. A year ago, I was forced to park it & since then mice have destroyed the wiring. Also note that this car has no interior fabric other than the front & rear seat covers. Repeat, no carpet, headliner, or door panels, also the rubber seals are in very poor condition all have been lost to the ravages of time and exposure. Since acquiring this car, much metal work has been completed to the floors, rockers & quarter panels. However, the trunk floor has yet to be replaced. I have & will include a trunk floor stamping salvaged from a rust free donor. Also included are all of the original Wide Stainless Steel body side moldings, trim parts & hundreds of Spare mechanical parts that I have acquired over the years by stripping 3 other cars. Let's face it, if you want to own a very unique & different Rat-survivor, this is one of only 13 known to exist in the world. If you are looking for a restoration project, this is one of only 367 ever produced & between the Vin tag, it's Clean Title & the Rear Hatch section it is a great start to a clone build. Someone needs to save this extremely rare car from almost certain extinction.
