Price: US $10,500.00 SOLD OUT
We are selling our rare 1978 Porsche 928. This is a euro-spec, first year of production car, and only the 573rd built. Highly desirable. These first year 928s (5 spd) are going up in value each year! Has the original 5-speed manual rarely found in US-spec models. Sold new in Germany, later imported by the second owner who sold to us. We have all paperwork relating to its importation as well as a book of all service records, receipts, and even photos of it in Germany. Amazing history and documentation.Just completed a full brake job that included rebuilding all four calipers. It also received a tune-up, engine maintenance, a new coolant overflow reservoir, and thorough inspection by our mechanic. Drivetrain was fully rebuilt by a reputable Porsche mechanic in 2000 and has seen low miles since. Currently needs small body work on the front fender corner, repairs to the pop-up headlights, and a few other fixes (does not have AC). A little work and this will be a great driver or investment. Tires have less than 500 miles on them. Wheels are perfect, as is spare. The chassis has 143,000 miles currently. The 928 drives beautifully and handles/accelerates just like a Porsche should. Engine is super strong! We'd love to keep it but we maintain a large collection and need to free up some garage space. And, we have a large binder with the complete documentation of the car's history including the original purchase and use in Germany and photos to prove i! The documentation is incredible. We got this car cheap as part of a package deal with another car we are restoring, and we already own a later-model 928. We are passing the savings on to the next owner. We just want to find this car a good home. We welcome test drives and inspections. This is a very early model, the 573rd car of the first year! These manual transmission first year Euro Spec cars are appreciating fast. Do you research. When sorted out, these are now worth $30k plus and climbing. list of known flaws: Note: Sold as is.
