We bought this 1955 Thunderbird when we 1st moved to California in 1994. It has been in our family ever since and used for special family gatherings and frequent weekend outings. Unfortunately, we are moving to Florida and have to leave the Thunderbird behind. The car has been driven regularly over the years. It is mostly original, with updates as necessary to maintain its very good condition. The car was repainted about 15 years ago and is still in excellent condition overall. There are a few small, minor blemishes that do not detract from the stunning appearance. The chrome was redone at the same time as the repaint. It is in excellent condition except for a small scratch on the front bumper and some tarnish on the front bumper guards. Additionally, a small section of the windshield surround has some tarnish, and the rear tail light chrome is in bad shape (a new bezel has been ordered). All running gear is in good shape and the original 292 V8 engine and automatic transmission was rebuilt 1200 miles ago. The carburetor was rebuilt at that time, and an electric fuel pump added. The horn ring has two small brakes. The heater and radio have been disconnected. The car comes with a matching hardtop in good condition. The car accelerates smoothly and runs well at 70/75mph on the freeway. Overall, its a fine running car with no major issues that will give a new owner pleasure for many years to come.
