1961 BMW Isetta 250The Isetta was invented 1952 in Italy and the ''half car half motorcycle'' was licensed in 1956 to BMW in Munich Germany. In 1956 BMW started producing the car for the masses, turning the car into reliable transportation. Powered by a 250cc (15.2 Cubic Inch) 12 Horsepower, Single-Cylinder 4-Stroke, air-cooled Engine, and a 4 Speed Manual Transmission, the Isetta could reach 50 mph top speed. The exterior oft his '61 Isetta is finished in âBaby Blueâ with a beige/blue interior and a sunroof. This Isetta is only 7.5 feet long and 4.5 feet wide. The bench seat interior of this microcar is finished in black and beige vinyl that complements the exterior look of the car. The driver and passenger enter the cabin through a front opening door, with the door and steering wheel hinging out towards the front. I bought the car in 2009 in Germany from a BMW dealer who did some work on the car including overhauling the engine. Since then, the car is part of a private classic car collection stored in a climate-controlled warehouse in Deerfield Beach/Ft. Lauderdale Florida. In 2020 the fuel tank and carburetor were cleaned and a new 12-volt battery was installed. The odometer shows 30.660 Kilometers. (App. 19,000 miles). Probably the original kilometers but not guaranteed. The car runs well and is ready for showing and fun driving. The car is sold with a free and clear Florida title.
