Here is your chance to buy a great running 1966 Thunderbird with a rebuilt 428 and C6 transmission. Take a look at the pictures as they tell the story. The car was originally dark green with a black interior. A previous owner took it all apart in the late 90's and had it painted red. Even the interior foot wells under the kick panels are red. The seats were recovered in a "velour" material and the headliner was redone in the same material. As you can see it has great "patina" which is the best kind of car to have as you don't have to worry about door dings, etc. The undercarriage is in great condition and I've also included a picture of the bottom of the driver's door. There was a small rust-through spot at the bottom of the right rear fender just in front of the tire (very common) which has been repaired with fiberglass and bondo. This is a super rare cruise control car and the options also included electric driver's seat, power windows, 8-track player and the optional headrest reclining passenger seat. Odometer shows 10,000+ miles which of course has rolled over so true mileage unknown but (see below):The 428 engine (build date January 22, 1966) was pulled and rebuilt in late 2020 with comp cam, rebuilt carb, petronix ignition, flame thrower coil and new bolt on parts (starter and alternator). The C6 transmission was also rebuilt and shifts fine. Motor runs quietly and very strong and sounds amazing with the all new dual exhaust system. Also new are the wheels (17"), tires in April 2021, plugs/wires and battery. The windshield had a crack and was replaced in 2022 and the glass tech commented that it's not very often that he pulls trim off classic cars and finds no rust at all. The car has a 10" Ford rear end, includes the original jack and lug nut wrench, has a spare and an owner's manual.Data plate shows a vehicle build date of February 1966 and engine on January 22, 1966 so it is likely the original motor but cannot be confirmed with 100% certainty.The "buy it now" price doesn't even cover the cost of the engine and tranny and you can drive the car as is, make it "prettier" or use that motor/tranny combination as you restore your late 60's mustang, fairlane, truck that needs a period correct engine.Buyer is responsible for shipping and I can hold the car in my garage until this is arranged by buyer. $1000 deposit due within 24-hours of end of auction with balance due within 7 days of end of auction in cash, cashier's check or wire transfer.
