Up for sale is my matching #s ‘72 Corvette LS5 454 Convertible.Rare find! In 1972 Chevrolet built 27,004 Corvettes, only 6,508 were convertible and only 3,913 were LS 454 so how rare is a combination LS 454 convertible?Less than 60k miles! Daily driver in restoration mode. What been done so far:- New suspension- shocks and springs and lower front end bushings- New brakes - master cylinder, calipers, discs and pads (4 wheel disc)- New exhaust - original exhaust manifolds restored with NOS A.I.R installed and complete new exhaust system through exhaust tips- New steering dampener and steering coupler- Rebuilt matching #s carburetor - New gas tank and sending unit- Full service and tune up including all fluids changed, most belts and hoses- Restored original Rally wheels with new trim rings and center caps- New BF Goodrich Radial TAs - front 235/60-15 rear 245/60-15Really nice black leather seats with one small area on passenger backrest peeling.Carpet is goodAll the lights and gauges work (clock is intermittent).Wipers are intermittent Radio not hooked upLeaks a little power steering fluidTo complete, needs a nice paint job. I was planning on original color 924 - Pewter Silver.(Current paint is something to be desired. Literally flakes off when rubbing your hand on it).Align and shim hood and doors to create perfect lines.Convertible top works fine and is in good condition. To make it perfect, I was planning on replacing it.Starting price is 1/2 the price of a restoration and most of the work has already been done!
