This Mustang comes from the Gary Thomas collection, making it one of the most original K-code Mustangs around.Rare MCA Trailered Concours National Show Winner. Featured in Mustang Monthly September 1989. Only 7273 K-code Mustangs built in 1965. This is Rotisserie restored using NOS parts. Matching numbers engine and transmission. This beautiful Mustang in Rangoon Red Exterior with White Interior and Red Appointments. Under the hood is Fords 289 CI High Performance V-8. This was an option Ford introduced in 1964. A letter K in Mustangâs VIN designated this option. Mustang took this performance level a step further with the Very Rare Deuces Wild triple 2-barrel carburetors. Very rare dealer-installed upgrade at the time. Cobra dress up package included the finned, oblong air cleaner lid and Cobra valve covers. Rare square cast aluminum oil pan, toploader 4sp transmission, console, Rally-pac styled steel wheels, Dual redline Tires and Koni shocks. Thereâs an AM radio in the dash and the Rally Pac gauge option, which placed a tachometer and a clock in a housing mounted to the steering column. This very attractive Mustang Fastback has been a show car since the 1980âs and has been meticulously keep.This Fastback Mustang comes from the pre-GT era, with a build dated January 1965, and has been part of the Gary Thomas collection since 1986. During its time with Gary Thomas, it was completely rotisserie restored using NOS parts from Thomasâ warehouse of Ford parts. It has a numbers matching engine and transmission, with a K-code 289 CI engine with dealer-added Tri-Power setup that boosted the stock 210HP output to a whopping 271HP. The extra power was courtesy of a mechanical lifter camshaft, higher compression ratio and a bigger carburetor. This particular 289 has dealer added, triple 2-barrel carburetors with correct aluminum tags, a popular upgrade at the time. The engine bay is finished off with a Cobra dress up package including valve covers and air cleaner. Underneath, thereâs a rare square cast aluminum oil pan.Power is transferred through a Toploader 4-speed transmission putting power down through a 9-inch rear end with 3.89 gears and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. On all four corners, this Mustang has heavy duty suspension and 14 inch styled steel wheels wrapped in dual Redline tires. Optional facctory disc brakes let you stop just as fast as you accelerate. The exhaust and hoses are all factory NOS parts.Inside, you get an impressive white upholstery with red carpet and a two-tone red-and-white dashboard and full console. The dash is adorned with Rally Pac gauges and an AM radio.
