Included in the rebuild were the transmission, new Bosch injectors, new brakes, new wiring harness, new fuel and water pumps. The car was repainted in its original Sea Foam over a refurbished Cognac interior. The body is straight, rust free and the panel fit is good. A previous seller says he has been over the body with a magnet and no bondo was used. The front windshield was replaced and finished with new chrome trim surround and rubber seal. The rear was fitted with new springs and new KYB shocks installed all around. Calipers, discs and pads were replaced front and rear - along with new stainless brake lines. The rear hatch has new seals, latch, struts and opens/closes easily.Cognac upholstery is in good condition with no tears or rips on the seats or door panels. Blue carpet was replaced and newlight switches for the door jambs were installed. The A/C system was replaced with a new R134A unit. Upper and lower dashes were replaced with new wood grain and vinyl components correct for the year. Custom Volver radio was installed, with Bluetooth. New weather stripping was added to both doors. New stainless sill plates. The original radio is included for those wanting to swap it back.The original 2L four-cylinder engine looks tidy and the fuel injection system was renewed with all new Bosch injectors and seals, anew EFI wiring harness, Bosch fuel pump, pressure regulator, and fuel filter. The BW35 linkage was rebuilt with new bushings and neutral safety switch and shifts smoothly. The current owner has replaced the exhaust manifold and completed the conversion to Bosch electronic ignition. The radiator and heater core were removed, tested, and flushed. New hoses and overflow bottle caps were added. A new battery and Bosch coil were also installed.The air intake duct and water pump were replaced, and new engine and transmission mounts have been installed. The new brake booster diaphragm makes a slight squeaking noise. The underbody looks clean with no major areas of corrosion visible.
