1980 Ferrari 308gtsi Survivor. This Iconic Italian Sports Car has Always Resided In Southern California Since New. It Still Retains It’s Original California Blue and Gold License Plates When Sold New In 1980. As the Lost Term Previous Owner Stated, He and His Wife Bought It From a Medical Doctor In 1984. He and His Wife Would Care For the Ferrari for the Next 34 Years. This Ferrari Sat In Their Garage In Glendale, California For Many Years. Why Wouldn’t Someone Drive This Iconic Italian Sports Car? Well, the Previous Owners at Some Point In the Mid 2000s Were Encouraged to Add a Turbocharger to the Factory Ferrari 3.0 V8 Engine. Although Horsepower Increased, the Engine and Cooling System Were Not Designed to Handle the Excess Heat a Turbo Produces. After Thousands of Dollars, and Only a Few Thousand Miles, The Engine Seized. After My We Purchased the Ferrari, We Hired an Independent Mechanic, Spent About $28,500, and Had the Engine, Fuel Injection System, Clutch, Flywheel, Engine Mounts and Brakes Rebuilt. As the Engine Picture Shows, This Ferrari Needs Very Little to Get It Running and Driving. You Will Have Peace of Mind With This Ferrari That the Mechanicals Will Be Strong and Reliable For a Long Time. It Is Reassuring to Know the Drivetrain Will Not Break Down Anytime Soon. 99% of Our Parts Were Purchased From Bill at GT Car Parts Inc. In Phoenix, Arizona (We Have All of the Purchase Invoices). The Few Parts We Didn’t Purchase From Bill, He was Out Of Stock On, or He Did Not Carry Those Parts. The Paint Is 42 Years Old, and Has It’s Flaws (Chips, Scratches, etc.). The Interior Is Nice For 42 Years Old, and Appears to Be Very Clean and Functional for It’s Age. The Interior Still Retain a “TURBO†Script on the Passenger Side Dash, and a Boost Gauge on the Top of the Center Console. This 308gtsi Comes with It's Original Ferrari Owner's Manuals, Ferrari Owners Manual Soft Case, Numerous Bills, Service Records Dating From the Early 1980's, and the Recent Invoices We Spent on Mechanical Restoration In the Last 2 Years.
