1966 Chevrolet ChevelleMalibu Sport Coupe 2 door hardtop. Original AA Tuxedo black, w/black vinyl top, black interior car. Only 9,488 Chevelles were black in 66 ( rarest color)Equipped with factory AC, power steering, power brakes, and FACTORY POWER WINDOWS! How many 66 Chevelles have you seen with power windows? Good running newer NOM 350 engine and 700R4 overdrive transmission. Original open 10 bolt rear end, unsure of the gear ratio. 15in ralleys with good tires. Mostly original trim and chrome in good condition. Newer paint and new interior. This car runs great, sounds great, drives great. Steering is tight, brakes are new and it goes down the road straight as an arrow! But there are a couple of things that were not done well in the restoration. 1. While this car does look good in pictures and driving, it is a 20 footer. What I mean by that is, sadly, they started with an extremely nice body, that needed little or no rust repair, and did below standard bodywork and prep. For instance, while it is difficult to see in the pictures, proper prep work was not done on the top after removing the vinyl top and the paint is bubbling right where the top moldings were. Nothing serious, but just shoddy workmanship in my opinion. The car was taken apart to paint, doors, trunk, hood, all trim etc all removed, but the overall quality of the job is poor. It could use a good cut and buff, but sadly that does not hide substandard bodywork. I just want to be very clear here. I know I'm probably talking some of you out of it I just don't want anyone to think that they will be buying a show car when it is definitely not.2. The factory AC needs put back on. All the guts are there, needs brackets, pump, etc to complete.3. Minor items need purchased or installed to finish interior. ( i.e. window felts, door opening pinch welt, rear package tray ) Overall this is a great car that can and should be enjoyed and driven as is. I had visions of taking this car to the next level with an LS swap, 6 speed, and that great modern restomod look. It is a the perfect candidate for either that or returning it to it's original triple black glory, complete with all the power options and factory AC. I might be interested in a trade, call me and we can talk, but I prefer cash.I will end the auction early for a serious buyer. I can help with transport and loading.
