1971 Dodge Demon 340.Numbers matching engine and transmission. Body: Most of the body is in great shape with very little rust (mainly small areas around scratches, etc. The front left fender was like the picture shows when I got it. Don’t know what caused the need for repair. Idon’t know if was changed, straightened and primered, or ?. The front valance also has the same coloring, and the driver door edge has primer on it. The fender tag is gone (I do have the build sheet). Transmission: Transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit Stock Stall Converter.Engine: The original engine from this car. It has been rebuilt 20 over with a slightly more aggressive cam. The heads were not ported –just a valve job. The ½ hour cam breakin at 2000 RPM has been completed – no overheating or other observed problems. After the cam break in I tried unsuccessfully to get the idle down to a streetable level. Carb was changed out during the rebuild and may need rejetting/tuning. Exhaust manifolds were replaced by headers. really do not know how to get the idle down or I would have already done it. Please don’t buy this car unless you are confident you can get it worked out. (Selling because I’m moving and don’t have time to find someone to work on it). Starts, but if you put it in gear it may leap or die. Plan on trailing it home. Car currently has temporary flex pipe attached to previous exhaust pipe. New headers sit low.If you can, come see it or have it inspected by someone you trust.
