This is a complete car. Everything is pretty much there and OEM. My grandfather bought the car slightly used in 1957 and it has been in the family ever since. Up until about 1998 it was an everyday car, driven with care and well maintained. It has been sitting on blocks under tarps since about 2005 and in a garage for a few years before that. This car is just waiting for someone to restore it to its full glory. Unfortunately I currently don't have the resources to redo this car. I have a certain sentimental attachment to this car, but I'm forced to let it go to someone who can take good care of it. This would be a good everyday car and quite the highway cruiser with the inline 3 liter 6 cylinder motor (same basic engine as the original Gullwings, but upright and with two Solex carburetors instead of the injection system). It has a 4 speed gearbox with the shifter on the steering column. It was built to cruise at autobahn speeds all day and night. The most recent engine work was done by the master mechanic at San Francisco Mercedes Benz. The car has not run in a few years, but with a little effort it can be started and made road worthy, although I would restore it somewhat before driving it. I really wish I could keep this car and restore it myself, but I have to sell it. The car is located in Fremont California and has been in the San Francisco Bay Area all its life.
