1975 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series (Brown/Tan)

Price: US $1,450.00 SOLD OUT

1975 Mercedes-Benz 240D, manual transmission, for sale by owner. Good condition excluding rust underbody. It has been sitting for over 4 years and has not been cranked. Interested buyers please be prepared to tow vehicle located in Vestavia Hills (neighborhood in Birmingham, AL).  New vacuum brakes, AC compressor, original Becker radio with XM satellite radio installed, new belts, new turn signal/windshield wiper controls, along with other various things. New clutch kit. I drove this beauty as my main vehicle until ~4 years ago. Currently it's parked at Uhaul facility (outdoors) in Vestavia Hills, AL. There are no significant engine concerns, it's just been sitting still awhile (too long) and currently doesn't crank. When I stopped driving the car there were no known electrical or mechanical issues. I stopped driving the car because of unrelated life events. All 4 brown/chrome wheels are original and matching and in good shape. The tires are ok too, just flattened somewhat by prolonged sitting. Odometer doesn't work, so unsure how many miles it has traveled. Body is in great shape overall (no dents, damage), although there is rust underbody. Interior is in great shape overall too, no tears in ceiling lining or leather in seats/doors, but needs some TLC in a general sense. Original spring seats, they're comfy.Vacuum locks for doors--some doors work and some don't. I have found ways to "make it work."Master and valet keys included as well as spare tire, car cover, floor mats, original Mercedes parts manual, original car manual, extra belts... Probably some more stuff in trunk. I am this car's 3rd owner and have owned the car for ~12 years--I have all paperwork from the car's original purchase 1975, including title, maintenance records, etc. Parking the car for such a prolonged period of time was not planned--I had a series of life events that took priority over the Mercedes. I paid $3000 for the car, and have put over $3500 into the car. I realize the car has been sitting uncranked for quite some time, but I think the price I've listed for the car is more than fair and reasonable. If you're interested, I can send copies of receipts of work done, additional pictures, info, etc.
