I purchased this car in January 2002, I have only put 8,000 miles on it in those 20 years. I purchased the car and had it shipped from its home in southern California in an enclosed trailer. It has only been driven in the summer and has never ‘seen’ snow.This 450SL is in incredible condition. It includes a hard top with a caddy as well as a convertible top that is in excellent condition (it was replaced in 2000). Its original home was in Southern California, so no rusting of any kind has occurred. It has been well cared for since it was new, has always been garaged and looks good. It comes with the original owner’s manual. Prior to my purchasing this vehicle, it was repainted with a complete body off paint job. In 1998, at 95,000 miles, both the upper and lower engine was completely rebuilt by Prestige Imports in Santa Ana, California. I have all the receipts for the cost of the paint job and engine rebuild. The wheels and tires were replaced in September 2013. It includes a car cover. The body has no dings, scratches or dents and has a very “new†look. It is hard to believe that it is a vintage 1976 vehicle. All the original rubber was replaced so there are no leaks. The convertible top looks as new as ever, with no rips or yellowing of the rear window. A rear brake light was added. The leather interior is in excellent condition with no tears. The carpet is in great condition as well as the trunk (which does not leak). It comes with a new spare tire and jack. The stereo is a Kenwood KDC S2009 with a built in CD player.The suspension was upgraded in 1998 to 560 standards. The odometer was broken from 1998-2001. There are receipts that document the mileage when it broke and when it was repaired.There are a few minor problems with the car. The cigarette lighter doesn’t work, nor does the cruise control but the part to repair it is included in the sale, the clock works sporadically, the passenger seat belt sticks.
