1962 Ford Thunderbird Sport RoadsterI love this car, but at my age, it is time to let it go to a good home. Cosmetically – Very Good. Mechanically – Excellent. $68,700 spent on cosmetic and mechanical replacements over and above the purchase price of $32.5K in 2014. There seems to be a lot of “Roadsters†for sale. While I don’t have the original invoice, here is what I know. The first Sports Roadster had a VIN number of 2Y85Z 105844. It was assembled on September 13th, 1961. Between that number and VIN 2Y85Z 114640 some 558 Sports Roadsters were built using Body Style 76A. First Sports Roadster built using body style 76B had the VIN of 2Y89Z 127027. The VIN of my car is 2Y85Z 105946, so I conclude it is a true Sports Roadster with body style 76A. Sport Roadsters had certain body and accessory characteristics such as the fiberglass Tonneau cover, Red, white and Blue emblems on both fenders with a matching emblem on centered on the Tonneau Cover, a Passenger Assist Bar mounted on the padded dash panel in front of the right-side passenger. My car has all that. See the accompanying pictures. This car has real wire wheels purchased in June, 2017. The five-digit Odometer reads 25,121 Since the Odometer only has five digits, we don’t know if it is 25,121 miles (most likely not) 125,121 (most likely) or 225,121 (most likely not). Upon your request, an email that details all the work done over the years available. Invoices to back-up the investments will be shared with those who actually come to view. 390 Cubic Inch engine is original and has not been rebuilt.
