1977 AMC Pacer (Blue/Blue)

Price: US $4,500.00 SOLD OUT

I have owned this since 2010. I have never registered it but have driven it on the local streets. At the moment, it starts up beautifully but will stall immediately unless you stay on the gas. The body is in good shape but not perfect. Some rust that I have amateurishly repaired on the bottom of the door and a few other places. The front bumper is perfect. The rear one is almost perfect but has a few little rust holes. Interior: Seats are in good shape. Headliner is perfect. Plastic panels on doors and back are cracked and missing some pieces. The PRNDL doesn't work; when you shift, the indicator does not move so you have feel for reverse, etc. The tailgate does not latch properly. Heater works great. I can't tell if AC works or not. It has a label saying it's been upgraded to R-34. The original AM radio does not work. There is a small valve cover oil leak. Big one-The windshield is broken. All the other glass is good. I got a price from Safelite of $550 for a windshield. Doors open and close properly; No wear or sag of the hinges. Manual crank windows and they work fine. Some good news: Battery was put in Nov. 2020. I had the gas tank cleaned and coated. The carburetor was rebuilt by a local pro (He's been doing this for over 50 years). Distributor, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, ignition wires were all replaced within the last five years. Fuel pump also. Because I did not want to take a chance on old fuel line with rust or whatever, I temporarily replaced it with rubber fuel injector hose routed from tank to fuel pump. Mileage is 39,268 and based on the lack of wear on the brake pedal I am confident that is accurate. Ignition switch is new (that solved an intermittent no spark problem). Muffler and back part of exhaust system was replaced in 2021. Compression is good; approximately 140 in all cylinders.Front floors were rotted out. I did an amateur repair job with scrap sheet metal and sheet metal screws. Carpeting in the front is completely gone. Rear carpeting is intact but has some faded spots. All tires hold air but they are ancient and can't be trusted to drive on. Brakes are good. I think I've replaced both front calipers; I know I did one for sure.Dash pad is in good shape. No cracks or tears. Body side molding on driver's door fell off. What you see in photo is black duct tape! Perfect size and color. I have the old molding but you would probably want to get new, or just live with is as is. Looks good even from 10 feet away!Factory wheel covers are in good shape.
